I haven’t written anything for a long time.
I was busy from all the fighting and in fact, you would be pleased because I have a lot of new stories that are interesting.
Right now, I am in good condition with some scratches all over my body... but that is nothing for a solider.
So let me talk about what happened yesterday because that was the most tragic yet mind blowing part of my entire journey so far.
Yesterday, British Singapore surrendered.
The “Nike” (Queen of the victory) blessed the Japanese instead of the British...
British Singapore was having a hard time defending the Japanese as there were so many of them. Even after we surrendered, many were massacred.
I, however, was a general and kept alive as they needed to take information out of me.
I tried to run but was captured near Bukit Timah Road.
At that time, I realized that my life would be ended like this and that I felt a weird sensation of giving up my life.
I recalled the faces of my family and was devastated to see them.
I didn’t know why but my tears just leaked out from my two eyes and everything went blurry.
So I was captured by this Japanese soldier name Naoto Kamino and he never handcuffed or touched me. He simply poked me with his gun to the airport and took me from Singapore to somewhere else.
On the plane, I met lots other generals and “communication soldiers” who knew lots of information about the British.
I asked them where we are being taken to and one of the Singaporean generals answered me that we were being taken to a Japanese prisoner camp in Vietnam.
By the time we got off the plane, it was dark.
The tropical rainforest had its own smell which poked my nose.
I felt so hot and sweaty but I never lost my focus on what the Japanese soldiers were doing as I never knew when they would open fire on me.
On the way to our camp from the airport, I was transported in a truck.
To minimize the oil usage, they only put three soldiers in each truck to supervise.
I thought to myself, this was my only chance of getting away.
I don’t know what was going on in my mind but I jumped off the truck and threw my body into the jungle.
I rolled down the hill and heard the soldiers shouting in terror.
I heard some gun shots but I also heard some saying........
"RUN !!!!!""
That was when I started running ....and tripped over by something.
"My head hit the ground and everything went dark after that....."
